What is Occupational Therapy?

For many years, occupational therapists have supported health and participation in life through activities (occupations). We are trained to provide interactive therapy where our clients are at the center of the therapy itself (client centered therapy). Through evaluation, intervention planning and client centered activities, we help people achieve their goals so that that they can live their lives to the fullest.

In recent years the world is realizing that importance of holistic therapy and preventative healthcare. Children are getting more sick, people are receiving more chronic illness diagnoses, and mental health problems are on the rise. Our food, air and water are of decreased quality. Obesity is on the rise and energy levels are low.

As an occupational therapist, I have been trained to use many research based and holistic modalities. I believe that in order to truly help a client achieve their goals, I must take a holistic view of their life and health instead of treating symptoms for a temporary fix.

It is my goal to bring to the forefront of occupational therapy this holistic view of clients and provide quality services in occupational therapy and life coaching. Working with me will increase you/your child’s function, energy and overall wellness. You and your family will enjoy life a whole lot more!

the natural environment

I strongly believe that the best change happens in the context of the natural environment. I feel that the most benefit will be achieved when sessions take place in your home or the child’s natural environment (school, community, playground, etc.) as appropriate.
